I Really Need My Coffee!!!

I am not a Starbuck's fan. I am from Massachusetts where there is a Dunkin' Donuts on every corner. This is not an exaggeration! Pick a corner, any corner, and you will find a Dunks! We don't believe in Starbucks in New England. We're serious about our coffee. When I lived back east, I had a Dunks coffee in hand at all times. Here in Arizona, not so much. There are only 15 Dunkin' Donuts locations in the Phoenix Valley. How disheartening is that?? When we first moved here, I went through some withdrawals. Then I had people sending me the stuff so I could brew it at home. (NOT the same!) Then I found some locations here, but since the water is so freaking hard here, it just doesn't taste right. But, it will do. So now, every time I go back east to visit family & friends, the first stop (even before baggage claim) is Dunks!! ThankGod there is one each at Logan and at TF Green in Providence. I can almost taste it now. Anyway, the issue is, of the 15 locations here in the Valley, NONE of them are on my way to work! This is really becoming an issue for me. My faithful readers understand my work issues, so they also understand that having a decent cup of joe in the morning is going to help me cope. But if I want that decent cup, I have to drive 25 minutes out of my way to get it! I could open a franchise, but I think we all know that's not going to happen...I would drink all the profits! I may have to start leaving the house earlier to get my coffee, because I can't possibly *gasp* be late for work! ;o)~ I hope everyone has a great day today! Enjoy your coffee!

This post has caused a little heartburn for this Starbucks lover! In fact, as soon as I am finished commenting I am running out to get one just to spite this Anti-Starbucks blog. So with that, I have two comments, well, one comment and one story.

(1) You get big credit for using my "Not so much" phrase.

(2) Driving 25 minutes out of your way for your perfect cup of coffee is not too much to ask. I too would not be happy about but it sometimes is worth it. When my husband and I would go visit his mother (in PA) I would drive 45 minutes every morning to Boardman Ohio (that was the closest Starbucks) to get my morning Chai. The Chai in town just didn't do it for me. The best time of my whole day was the drive back to town....drinking my Chai the whole way.

Kim, you are a trip. I'm glad you can understand my Dunks dilemma. This is not an anti-Starbucks blog, though, it is a pro-Dunks blog!
