If you follow a "what were the Framers thinking?" interpretation of the Constitution, you could say that they were afraid of some English colonist coming to the States and running for President. The Framers weren't afraid of children of US military, born on a base, running for office. Then again, the Framers were afraid of the "Church" as well and we all know how separate Church and State are these days... :) IMHO...Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16992693446959934593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8562127399970369433.post-50711274997254912062008-03-20T06:25:00.000-07:002008-03-20T06:25:00.000-07:00uh oh. like we need more drama in the election :( ...uh oh. like we need more drama in the election :( I mean we've already had Chuck Norris interjected!Queen Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08807452901292101269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8562127399970369433.post-3960481641439812382008-03-19T22:06:00.000-07:002008-03-19T22:06:00.000-07:00Well, I thank you for the most intellectually stim...Well, I thank you for the most intellectually stimulating thought I've been confronted with today. As a student of politics I found this highly interesting.
The answer, which will become very apparent, very soon, is that the united states constitution only says that the President must be a natural born citizen, which a child born on a foreign land to two American citizens, and at least one of the parents lived in the United States prior to the birth.
SO... I guess John can run.
Thanks for sharing!Camronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08803654359136761296noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8562127399970369433.post-56417318522044957032008-03-19T21:29:00.000-07:002008-03-19T21:29:00.000-07:00I have to say I am with the McCain camp on this on...I have to say I am with the McCain camp on this one.
