Too Busy To Blog?

The weekend was a trip...Eric and his lovely wife Toshia came to visit us from Tucson. They are both in the military and will be leaving for Korea in a few short weeks for a year. Then it's on to England for 3 years. We will miss them terribly, but look forward to visiting them once they are settled in England! So that's why I was too busy to blog over the weekend. Now, Vicki is sick and has been since Sunday night. Her fever finally broke, so hopefully she'll be back to school tomorrow and I can get back to life as usual. I don't have internet service at home (yes, I'm a holdout). So, here I sit at Kramer's computer blogging my little heart out. Just wanted everyone to know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth just yet. Take care and be good to yourselves!

Kitty King

My kitty, Precious, has become the 'Don King' of our kitty community. I'm not quite sure if she's promoting fights, or just taking bets, but the following has happened on two occasions: I am watching TV and hear a cat fight outside the front door. I open the front door and see two cats going at it on my patio. Neither one of the fighting cats is Precious, though. No, Precious is perched on either the railing or the window sill watching the action!!! Kramer laughed so hard, he put himself into a coughing fit, and I almost peed my pants! After the fight was over, Precious Kitty pranced into the house like it was nothing at all. And thanks to her doorman, Kramer, she never has any issues getting in, either! All she has to do is hang on the window screens and Kramer knows that's his cue to open the door! Pretty smart cat, I'd say! So, Precious Kitty is now 'Kitty King'. I've got to get batteries in that digital camera. Next time it happens I will post a picture!

Introducing: Kramer

I thought I posted this yesterday, but for some reason it didn't post. Kramer is our neighbor that lives 2 doors down. He will be blogged about often, so I thought I should introduce him. A few quick facts about Kramer: He has too many vehicles (just ask the City of Peoria) He has some neighbor-relation issues He doesn't care what others think - to an extreme He is NEVER late for dinner He has become a very good friend to us For those of you that know Corey; Kramer has become something of our Corey in Arizona. He also takes Corey's place at our dinner table most nights. That's ok, except some nights he argues with Vicki and it feels like we have Eric & Sam (oil & water) living with us again! Kramer, you are a good friend, so don't take offense to anything I may say or write. It's just my normal sarcasm; nothing more, nothing less.

Shopping at Fry's

The other day, I went to Fry’s with our crazy neighbor, Kramer. (he prefers this name to “Leaky”, and he really is crazy.) Kramer needed to pick up a few things, and I needed ciggies. We are in the check-out line, talking to each other, joking, etc. I walked to customer service to get aforementioned ciggies, and when I came back the woman at the register, who both Kramer and I had been talking to, asked me if I knew Kramer – after I took his bag of groceries! Hmmm…let me think – no, I don’t know him; I just want his frozen omelettes! I’m an omelette thief running rampant in the city of Peoria! I should explain that Kramer is the self-appointed “Mayor” of Fry’s Food & Drug. Yes, he’s a bit off, but he’s ok. Everyone in the store knows him. He talks to everyone, and he is there every day. I don’t know why the cashier didn’t know I was with him. We were talking together, and to her, and then I said, “I’m going to customer service, I’ll be right back.” Did that not indicate that I was coming back to meet him at the register? Would a complete stranger say that? Or possibly an omelette thief? No, I think maybe an omelette thief would have snuck up on him and grabbed the bag. There was no grabbing on my part. I picked up the bag and said, “Let’s roll in the Buick”. No self-respecting omelette thief would invite their prey into the getaway car! So, it seems to me that Fry’s needs to raise the bar when it comes to hiring cashiers. I had an issue with another cashier last night; Billy G. What a piece of work! But that’s another blog altogether!
