Thanksgiving Breakfast

Today, we had our annual Thanksgiving breakfast at work. The food is never a disappointment. Eggs were good, plenty of fruit, pancakes, sausage, etc. It was wonderful.

There is one thing, however, that really bugs me. Starbuck's coffee. Now I'm sure it's wonderful for all you Starbuck's lovers to get a free coffee in the morning, along with a free breakfast. But I gotta tell ya, I think Starbuck's coffee is simply mud in a cup, and the people at Starbucks are laughing at all of you for paying $5 for a cup of mud! Hello??

I tried a cup, thinking, well, it can't be that bad if I make it myself. So a little Splenda and some 1/2 & 1/2, and I went back to my desk. WRONG! It is that bad! I took a sip and immediately felt like the hair was starting to grow on my chest! WTF??!! I really don't understand how anyone can drink this crap!

I'll stick to my Dunkin' Donuts coffee from now on. I hope all you Starbuck's lovers enjoy your mud!

I Really Need My Coffee!!!

I am not a Starbuck's fan. I am from Massachusetts where there is a Dunkin' Donuts on every corner. This is not an exaggeration! Pick a corner, any corner, and you will find a Dunks! We don't believe in Starbucks in New England. We're serious about our coffee. When I lived back east, I had a Dunks coffee in hand at all times. Here in Arizona, not so much. There are only 15 Dunkin' Donuts locations in the Phoenix Valley. How disheartening is that?? When we first moved here, I went through some withdrawals. Then I had people sending me the stuff so I could brew it at home. (NOT the same!) Then I found some locations here, but since the water is so freaking hard here, it just doesn't taste right. But, it will do. So now, every time I go back east to visit family & friends, the first stop (even before baggage claim) is Dunks!! ThankGod there is one each at Logan and at TF Green in Providence. I can almost taste it now. Anyway, the issue is, of the 15 locations here in the Valley, NONE of them are on my way to work! This is really becoming an issue for me. My faithful readers understand my work issues, so they also understand that having a decent cup of joe in the morning is going to help me cope. But if I want that decent cup, I have to drive 25 minutes out of my way to get it! I could open a franchise, but I think we all know that's not going to happen...I would drink all the profits! I may have to start leaving the house earlier to get my coffee, because I can't possibly *gasp* be late for work! ;o)~ I hope everyone has a great day today! Enjoy your coffee!
