Update

So I've had a few people ask me how we're doing, how's the bike, etc. Here's the update: The bike is running, however it needs more work before we go to Yuma in two weeks. You can read all about the mechanical stuff over on Big D's blog. We are hanging in there. We're planning two trips to Yuma on the bike. One next month and one at the end of April. Then there's Too Broke for Sturgis in July. I'm hoping to make that one, but I'm not sure yet. How sad is it that we may be too broke for Too Broke? Our finances have been worse. (I have to keep telling myself this.) My checking account is not negative...it's not too positive, either, but not negative. I've been extremely busy with school. I've also been busy avoiding homework. I'm getting pretty good at it, too. Avoiding it, I mean. :) One of our friends earned his road name this week. He told us how he was so tired when he got home from work the other day, he thought his kickstand was down, and it wasn't. There are a few scratches, but no major damage. Then, Friday night he was in our driveway and thought his kickstand was down again. This time his clutch lever left a dent in my Buick. We immediately started the 'Road Name Game'. We had it down to "Dropper" or "Kickstand". Kickstand won. :) Then our BACA president's wife cut his Polar Bear road name patch off his vest. :) A round of Jack & Coke for everyone. And another, and another... yesterday was a tough day. :) Hopefully we'll be going to Yuma in a couple of weeks and I'll have lots of pictures and stories to tell. Until then, ride safe.

I have never been to Yuma. Is it a fun place or just good to ride to?

Too funny! Kickstand that is!

QB: We need to start a homework avoidance club! ;)

Kim: No, actually Yuma is kind of crappy, but there's a lot of motorcycle runs there. :)

Mr M: Yeah, we all thought so, too. Kickstand didn't, though. :) I'll be sure to post a picture of his new patch as soon as he gets it.

Tell him it could be worse...how about "Jiffy Stand?" I still can't believe that's what Harley officially calls it. Yikes!

Keep your chin up. A little “positive” is still better than any “negative”.

Glad to hear the bike is running again, though noisy at least she's running. Kickstand was telling me all about that Saturday. TOO FUNNY!!!! Shame I missed that. Who's pregnant? Jen seems to think it was me... Wanted to let you know the Air Show is 3/21-3/22, let me know if you guys wanna come with.

positive is still better than not! I'm quite sick of homework...my son's. I'm sick of always having to nag him to do it!

I agree with everybody that a little positive is much better than any negative!! Keep up the good work with school, I've tried to go back, but I just can't focus on studying and homework anymore.

man, this is why I try to stay sober. This is why I don't drive a car that often either.

Well. I have no tv, internet or phone. lol, so I hear yah. It's been damned nice though. I just might keep it that way. I have the internet at the shop.

You two have riches beyond what most do. Enjoy it. Some folks with money never seem to be satisfied. Hang in there.

Sometimes I wonder how we make any ends meet up at our household. Our combined income this last year was less than mine alone the previous year. To top that off, it looks like we will be getting back about half what we are used too on income taxes. We are about recessed as we can be. Then there are always bike bills. Gotta pick up a new battery for my Mistress this evening. Sometimes I wonder, will it ever end?

Ride on,
Torch

Well good luck on Yuma. Was there with Glen Ford 45yrs ago on tv and then a couple yrs back at the theater:) And positive is far better than negative.

I'm glad things are going ok. I'm right there with you on a lot of it. I'm going to be too broke for "Too Broke". Kinda sad, but oh well. My checking account is positive for the moment. :)
