In Memoriam

Precious Kitty Nelson 2004 - 2008 Yesterday, we lost our cat to a speeding car on our street. Kitty was an important member of our family. She was the official lap-sitter, and she took that very seriously. She loved to be in the garage with D, or anywhere with Vicki. When I got out of my car after returning from work, she would run up to me and escort me to the front door and into the kitchen to be fed. Our little doggy Rascal was her best bud for the last 4 years, and it seemed that he was actually upset yesterday. D put kitty in a box in the backyard until Vicki got home, and Rascal laid down next to the box and stayed there. When the pool guy came, Rascal stood up by the box and watched him, as if to say, "Don't come over here." Telling Vicki when she got home from school was no treat, either. 10-year-old girls do not take these things well. We'll miss you, Kitty...and we love you.

Awww guys that totally sucks! I am so sorry for your loss! I had a few lap sits myself and I will miss her! F'ing speeders! I always slow down, even for those pesky rabbits in my hood!

So sorry to hear about this Ann. We had a cat for almost 20 years and had to have her put down back in 1999. It was hard to do. Sometimes it's hard to believe how attached we get to animals, but we do. Really sorry to hear about your loss.

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that happened. How is Vicki doing? Any plans to get a new kitty to try and ease the pain? She was a cutie and we'll remember her.

Poor kitty! And poor Vicki and Rascal. Losing a pet has to be one of the worst things to go through... all they do is give unconditional love :( Very sad for y'all!

Nelson family,
I'm so sorry. I know the pain of losing a beloved pet, and all I can say is that some day the good memories will be a comfort. My heart goes out to all of you.

Ann, I am so sorry. I really get attached to my little babies also, and I feel very understanding and sad to hear of your loss. I hope this link I'm sending you works. It's a poem that is absolutely the sweetest and comforting thing I can read when I would lose one of my beloved pets. I'll be thinking of Rascal too, he will miss his playmate.
