Hello, Again

In a previous post, Saying Goodbye Sucks, I wrote of how my friend Tanya was moving back to Massachusetts and how I would miss her and how much it totally sucked that she was leaving. Well, apparently they thought it sucked, too, because they are moving back to Arizona! Woo-hoo! My first thought was, 'this must be a joke', but it's not. They are extremely unhappy back east. I think they have found that their memories of 'back home' were seen through rose-colored glasses. And now, their memories of 'back home' are right here in AZ. The people back there are not as nice as they remembered, the weather is a lot worse than they remembered, and let's face it, you can't live in a place called 'The Valley of the Sun' for 8 friggin' years, and then move to a place where summer only lasts 2 months! Hello??? But I told her not to feel bad: they had to find out for themselves. If they hadn't gone back, they always would have wondered how it would've worked out. Now they know where home is. I really do feel bad that it didn't work out for them, but I am sooooo happy that they're coming back! They're leaving on 3/28, and I absolutely cannot wait to see them and say, "Welcome HOME!"

Funny! But I would've done it too! That's one of those things that you would wonder about forever - what if? And now they know! I think you should throw a welcome home party! ;)

YAY!!! The welcome home party should make some great blog material (or so I've learned about your get togethers) :)

I know how she feels!!!! Even in Maryland, the people are nicer, there isn't such a negative, east coast, have to be tough vibe, the weather is better, and it just feels more cultured and diverse. Massachusetts will always be where I grew up, but Maryland's my home...or at least the DC area is, b/c I can live in either VA, DC, or MD and still be central. I love it here! The only thing I miss (geographically) is Cape Cod.
