Friday morning, I looked out the back door and noticed these black blobs floating in the pool...
They were ants blown into the pool by the storm on Thursday night! How nasty is that!
Vicki loves to play in the rain...glad there was no lightning...she doesn't take well to the word 'no'. (Takes after her Dad, there!)
One of the freeways became flooded after that particular area received over 2.5" in less than an hour. Those poor people sat there for almost 4 hours waiting for the flooding to clear! Glad it wasn't us!
I tried to get a picture of our street on Thursday night, because it was really flooded! So much water was running down both sides of the street that you could only actually see about a 2" strip of asphalt down the center! However my camera was not working with me, so no pic!

WOW! Great pictures! I love when it rains in Phoenix...
Ants = GROSS!!!
I love playing in the rain!
Yuck on the ants!
That is a cute picture of Vicki in the rain. I love playing in the rain, but here it's usually cold when it rains.
When we were in TN we had a pretty good shower, and I got some pics of Riley and my nieces playing out in it. I will have to post it when I get through with the Hollister stuff. :)
Here in Minnesota, the Dumb Asses would drive through the flooded street, and kill the cars, and have a total loss flooded car insurance claims. The sad part is, the insurance companies would cover their loss, 'cause they insure losses for just plain being stupid.
Great pics Ann.
We've had a lot of rain here this summer, so I have kind of gotten used to it.
When it rains, it pours. You would think that ants, which can travel 200 miles per hour, (scale speed if they were the size of a bike), could get those legs moving fast enough to jetski across the pool. You have to admit they are loyal...one after another jumping in to save the buddy. How else do you explain the clumping together. heh.
Time to move the bikes to higher ground!!
The picture of Vicki brought to mind Clapton's "Let It Rain". The tune is stuck in my head now.
QB: Yeah, I love it too, but I used to hate it! I guess after living here for 8 years, I have come to like the rain now!
Jenn Ann: Nuff said!
BB: I'm waiting to see the picture now! :)
Mr. M: I didn't get a pic of it, but people did try to drive thru and got towed out. They actually have what's called a 'Stupid Motorist Law' here in AZ for those fools who drive past a barrier into a flooded street and get stuck there - they have to pay for their rescue.
Mike: I know how you feel. When we lived in Mass, I hated the rain, just HATED it!
Dave: That's a good theory, but I think the wind blew the ants in there! :) Don't worry, the bikes are safe and sound!
And that's actually the song I had in my head when I took that pic of Vicki playing in the rain! It reminds me of more carefree days! :)
Since more people read your blog....

Vicki looks awesome! Reminded me of the Pina Colada song:
I like Pina Coladas...and gettin caught in the rain...
Eeeew! Ants = hate!
Cool pics! That traffic looks horrid. I would have had a huge problem being stuck in that!
I love the rain!!
we get frogs in our pool when it rains, that is just as nasty as ants!!
Ants ick!!!
Still nothing like Tara's place in Iowa and they got more rain last night! We drove through about 3 feet of water on Indian School on Thursday night, Thank God we were in Tim's truck! I love the rain when we finally get it, too bad we rarely do!
Love the rain. Hate the ants. Love playing in the rain. Hate the stupid drivers.
Could you send some rain this way so it'll put out all the fires?
The ants are nasty.
I am in Mesa today and we were making our own rain with the hose.
I swear, I think I already commented on this...but maybe I'm losing it...
I wish we could get a good dust-clearing rain.
Vicki looks like she is having a great time!
Made me think of the Pina Colada song....I love Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain...
Oh the poor ants were clinging to each other for dear life!!
