Another Award!

Our oldest son Rex is serving our country in the United States Navy. He's currently in Okinawa, Japan with his wife Deja, who is also serving our country, and their son Christian.
Since he joined in 2001, I have been getting emails with pictures of Rex receiving various awards. Here is a picture he sent recently. He received Junior Sailor of the Quarter Award. His email read: Another award! I just keep rackin' 'em up! Keep up the good work, Rexxy!
The thing we noticed most about this picture is that Rex now has more visible tattoos than his Dad! Now Big D wants to play catch-up! LOL!

Congrats Rex! You must be proud of your son, I know I am and I have never met him.

Yeah, I have been wanting to tat some more but I keep using the money for the tats on gas!

Thanks for sharing the satisfaction.

Very cool! I have to say I was chuckling, because Rex has such a sweet little baby face, and his arms don't quite match. lol.
Good job Rex!

I'm glad the tatts haven't been outlawed in the military yet by the PC police - knock on wood.

I'm really glad he's doing well and that he's in Okinawa and not the war zone. You must be really proud. Having served myself, even though it was in the reserves, I can really appreciate what he's over there doing for all of us.

A little secret: I always wanted to join the Navy, but I'm a lousy swimmer! Also, it takes a certain kind of person to look good in Navy whites, and that ain't me. I know for a fact had I done Navy instead of Army, they'd be calling me Gilligan today instead of Joker!

Make sure you give Rex a shout out from all of us in the blogosphere to let him know that we are so grateful to have people like him fighting for our freedoms. We can never thank you enough, Rex! (Ann, you should be one proud mamma!)

Dave: Yeah...we're proud as hell!

Dean: we are proud as hell. Rex will probably read the post and comments in a while. Thanks!

BB: Yeah...baby face and tats...good mix, huh? LOL

V: Yeah, I have the itch too!

Mr M: Proud as hell!

QB: Thanks!

Joker: That's all we need is to limit the number of tats on our men and women serving this country...that would be an outrage.

We're very happy he's not in the war zone, although he was previously on an aircraft carrier near the war zone. His brother served in Afghanistan for a while, too.

LOL! I can't picture you in Navy whites! Gilligan for sure! ;)

Mrs RC: Thank you so much. We are proud as hell! I'm sure Rexxy will be posting his comment later, and he'll see all these wonderful comments from all of you! Thanks!

As for the tats. I'll admit, I NEVER understood why people got lots of tattoos. Now I've got the one on my leg and keep thinking....Mmmmm, I'd love to get a butterfly!

Thank you all for your appreciation. I will continue to do what i can to help ensure everyone's safety no matter how hard Bush tries to get us all killed.

As for the tats i'm still working on them. I laugh at some of your comments because the military does have laws now limiting the amount of tattoo's visible in uniform but luckily on the ship i wore long sleeves so by the time they actually saw my arms they were covered so i just told them that i always had them. They told me i can't get anymore below the elbows.... that was about 3 ago and i'm gettin awards up the ass so i don't think anyone is going to give me shit.

Till next time....

Fair winds, and following seas.
