Update on the Bike

Well, Big D came to bed around 3:30-ish this morning and said the bike is now running. He started working on it at 9:00 last night (is he dedicated or what?!) He had to buy a $22 sprocket and a master-link. I'm sure there are more technical details that you mechanical-types will want, but you won't get them here. Sorry. I'm more of a we-got-a-comfy-new-seat girl, not a we-got-a-new-sprocket-thingamajig-doodad girl. :) This doesn't mean that I don't appreciate Big D's mechanical aptitude and his hard work and dedication, I just don't get some of the real technical stuff. So this weekend we have a BACA child ride (which is what BACA is really all about) and the Superbowl (GO CARDS!). Our background checks just came back clear last week, so now we can go on the child rides. I'll post more later, but said I would update when the bike was running again. Thanks, everyone for your concern. ;) BTW...I'm only rooting for the Cardinals because the Patriots aren't in the Superbowl this year. :)

great news about the bike! I'm always impressed when people can work on cars, motorcycles, stuff like that. I'm doing good to change the wipers!

I've been a Steelers fan for many years but I'm rooting for the Cardinals on Sunday. I like rooting for the underdog!
(Sorry, but I can't stand the Patriots!!!)

Congrats on the bike running. Hopefully you'll be able to ride your own soon. I'm also routing for the Cards - for the same reason as you ;) I still can't believe the Pats didn't make the playoffs with an 11-5 record. That shit ain't right!

I am definitely not a "doodad-knowing girl" either! Happy that Big D knows these things and has the bike fixed!

Can't wait to hear all about the ride. It's nice to have a man who can get his stuff fixed himself so you only had to shell out $22 bucks instead of the arm and a leg someone else would've charged!
And I'm with you, I appreciate the mechanics some people can do, I just can't understand it all!

That rocks a camel's hump and whoops a llama's ass!

I find it hard to believe that you guys passed the background...lol! Just kidding you lying fiends! (Oh yeah, I guess it depends on what they are specifically looking for however. You guys are good folk from what I can tell.) I am impressed that they actually do the backgrounds. Outstanding. That's an organization I can get behind.

Can't wait to see the bike. Looking forward to seeing some picts of you on it blazing a trail on the asphalt.

You are gonna have to throw a bike party. Better make sure you keep that mechanic guy very, very happy.

Paula: I haven't changed a pair of wipers in 20 years!

Dean: I'm glad you're rootin for the Cards...I love the underdog, too!

Joker: I feel your pain!

QB: Me too!

BB: I can't imagine what a shop would have charged...it would have been quite costly, I'm sure.

Dave: YOU whoop a llama's ass! LOL!

A little info on BACA's background check: they run NCIC and FBI fingerprint and background checks on everyone before they can interact with BACA children. They check for previous felony convictions for crimes against children and domestic violence. Other than that, they don't care! ;) BTW...they said I am 'squeaky clean'. Big D...not so much!

We'll have our bike party with you and BB at Too Broke in July! :)

Great news about the bike! I'm only rooting for the Cardinals because the Cowboys aren't in the Superbowl this year (and if Steelers win, they have the most superbowl rings... ever beating the Cowboys - can't have that!)
