Can You Believe This?

I swear this could only happen to me. I haven't received a summons for jury duty in 7 years! Is this some kind of joke? Are the courts even open the day after Thanksgiving?? Guess I'll find out!

That is almost as bad as New Year's Day.

It a government thing, don't they get Friday off. All the schools do.

Weird.

Just reply that you can't make that date due to prior engagement.

NO!!! This is perfect!!!! You'll never get stuck on a case on a holiday week because EVERYONE will want to postpone their case. I actually postpone my service dates to holiday weeks for this very reason. Of course, in the last 7 years that you haven't been summonsed I've been summonsed 3 times and lived in 3 different counties (that also helps you get out of jury duty).

Ha! Nope, they are open the day after Thanksgiving - on that day 4 years ago I filed for divorce! That day was better than any after Thanksgiving sale I ever went too!

I was the foreman one time, it was a terrible experience. All that pressure of someone life in your hands.

I am so sorry

Did you register to vote? I had never in my life been called to jury duty until I registered to vote. Uch...

Thanks to all of you. The problem is, I've already sent the reply in, so I have to go. Wish me luck!
